The Cast & Crew
Duke Mengeler
(Writer/Director)
Duke spent four years hustling on the streets in order to raise the funds for his first film — a no-holds-barred documentary on Bangkok's ladyboys. Sadly, this film was never aired due to some unfortunate legal complications. Undeterred, Duke immediately set to work on the script for Troy from his cell. In addition to his love of cutting-edge film-making, Duke is passionate about cute, furry things and is a veteran of many anti-vivisection campaigns. On the advice of his therapist, Duke is planing to relocate to a remote part of the Australian outback.
The Gimp
(Troy)
After surviving an impoverished childhood on Cardiff's violent West Side, the Gimp rose to fame at the age of 17 in the seminal erotic thriller Leather Joy Boy, and went on to star in several arthouse classics, including Slippin' into Darkness and Bitchslap II. An exponent of the method school of acting, Gimp spent three years hanging out in sleazy bars and lap dancing clubs in order to prepare for the role as Troy. Sadly there is often a heavy price to pay for authenticity, and since filming Gimp's dedication has led to well-publicised treatment for drug, alcohol, television, and sex addiction. "In retrospect I guess I was a bit out of control," says Gimp, "At one point I was spending about a grand a day on lap dancers. It's not a period of my life I'm particularly proud of, but Hell, it was fun." Despite his lavish playboy lifestyle, Gimp still finds time to help others, and has spent time travelling in Eastern Europe looking for aspiring 'acting talent'.
Roberto Cortina
(Tony Du Bois)
Roberto got his big break by responding to a newspaper ad calling for young men to appear in a film titled Sponge or Stone being filmed in Harlem. He landed the role of Sponge. Since then he has carved out a career playing Italian studs in movies like You're My Daddy, Fill Her Then Kill Her and Bad Assed Pimp IV. "I could really identify with my character," says Roberto of his role as Troy's bitch, "It demanded a sensitive yet manly approach, and required me to really get in touch with my feminine side." When he's not in front of the camera, Roberto enjoys fast cars and slow women.
Fitzgerald
(Alfonso Bagetti)
After a spell as an officer in the armed forces, classically trained Fitzgerald earned critical acclaim for his sensitive portrayal of a physically challenged young orphan in the hit rock-opera Timmy!. When he's not busy creeping the boards, Fitzgerald lives the life of a hermit, attending to the needs of a small flock of sheep and seeking spiritual enlightenment in the remote hillside grotto he calls home.
Sharon
(The Love Interest)
Troy is Sharon's first major role in a motion picture, but you're sure to be seeing much more of her in the future. "I knew the role of the love interest was made for me the moment I saw the script. All too often today Hollywood stereotypes young women as two-dimensional bimbos and sex-objects, so I was really excited to be playing a character with real depth that would stretch my acting ability." When not busy filming, Sharon enjoys manicures and playing with her pet poodle.
Lance Pemberton
(Leroy Le Badger)
A committed thespian from the age of six, some proclaimed Lance to be the new Shirley Temple after seeing him in the off-Broadway musical Pee Wee Herman Gets Busted. Unfortunately, his career took a nose dive after he accepted a part in the controversial and commercially disastrous religious epic Lesbian Lavatory Nuns. For some years, he scraped a living by appearing in TV commercials for prosthetic limbs, until finally relaunching his career with his performance in Lap It Up: The Seedy Side of Grand Prix.
